In June a couple from the Netherlands visited Ohrid, Macedonia. Near their hotel lived a beautiful dog on the streets. She was about six months old and looking for love and food. The couple fell in love with the dog and when they have to fly home again, they asked a local to take care of the dog. They gave him money for food, medical care, neutering and transport to the Netherlands. Weeks passed by, months passed by, Mona the dog did no fly to her forever home. In September Animalia Ohrid were asked for help to get Mona to the Netherlands. Animalia asked Angel’s Choice for help to organize transport. Mona was going to be on the last flight of this year from Ohrid to Amsterdam. But then the local man dropped a bomb: Mona was pregnant. An echo at the vet confirmed she was about 30 days pregnant. She was brought to the shelter of Animalia to be fostered. Yesterday she gave birth to 10 puppies. All very sweet and endearing, but it would have been better if they had not been born. If the local man had fulfilled his promise and had Mona neutered. Now Animalia has to find a home for 10 puppies. Mona will travel to the Netherlands when the puppies are weaned. Irresponsible behaviour like this makes me furious.
In juni bezocht een Nederlands stel Ohrid, Macedonië. Bij hun hotel leefde een prachtige hond op straat. Ze was een maand of zes en op zoek naar liefde en eten. Het stel werd verliefd op de hond en toen ze weer naar huis moesten, vroegen ze iemand uit de buurt om voor de hond te zorgen. Ze gaven hem geld voor voer, medische zorgd, castratie en vervoer naar Nederland. Weken gingen voorbij, maanden gingen voorbij, Mona de hond ging niet op reis naar haar gouden mand in Nederland. In september werd Animalia Ohrid om hulp gevraagd voor het transport. En Animalia vroeg Angel’s Choice om hulp. Mona zou met de laatste vlucht van dit jaar van Ohrid naar Amsterdam vliegen. Maar toen liet de man een bom vallen: Mona was zwanger. Een echo bevestigde dat ze ongeveer 30 dagen zwanger was. Ze werd naar de shelter van Animalia gebracht. Gisteren baarde ze 10 puppies. Allemaal even lief en aandoenlijk, maar het waw beter geweest als ze niet geboren waren. Als de man uit Ohrid zijn belofte was nagekomen en Mona had laten steriliseren. Nu moet Animalia 10 puppies onder dak zien te brengen. Mona komt naar Nederland zodra de puppies zelfstandig zijn. Ik kan zo pissig worden om dit soort onverantwoord gedrag.
