We are so happy and grateful that we have reached the goal amount of the fundraiser for Ganer in Macedonia. His owner has already bought the Milteforan that is needed to fight the leishmania. Thank you, dear supporters! Thank you, people who shared this fundraiser.

We zijn zo blij en dankbaar dat we het streefbedrag van deze fundraiser voor Ganer in Macedonië hebben bereikt. Zijn baasje heeft de Milteforan die nodig is om de leishmania te bestrijden al gekocht. Dank, lieve donateurs! Dank allen die deze fundraiser hebben gedeeld.

Animalia is an animal protection association in Ohrid, Macedonia. They rescue stray dogs and cats, take care of them and find forever homes for them. They also want to educate the local population in order to reduce the cruelty against animals. A lot of tourists from the Netherlands visit Ohrid because of the beautiful lake (the biggest and deepest lake of the Balkan, protected by Unesco) and its cultural heritage.  Animalia wants to involve these tourists by inviting them to the shelter to take part in the daily chores and to take care of the dogs. The tourists will be having a good time and the dogs too. Work will be done and hopefully some money donated and dogs fallen in love with and adopted.
Angel’s Choice is located in the Netherlands and will help Animalia developing this volunteer tourism.

Animalia is een dierenwelzijnsorganisatie in Ohrid, Macedonië. Ze redden zwerfhonden en -katten, verzorgen ze en zoeken een thuis voor hen. Ze willen ook de lokale bevolking voorlichten om zo de wreedheid jegens dieren te vermindren. Veel Nederlandse toeristen bezoeken Ohrid vanwege het prachtige meer (het grootste en diepste meer van de Balkan, beschermd door de Unesco) en het culturele erfgoed. Animalia wil deze toeristen betrekken bij hun werk door ze uit te nodigen in de shelter en daar te helpen bij de dagelijkse taken en het verzorgen van de honden. Dan zullen de toeristen een leuke tijd hebben en de honden ook. Er wordt werk verzet, hopelijk wordt er gedoneerd en worden er mensen verliefd op een hond, zodat die wordt geadopteerd.
Angel’s Choice is gevestigd in Nederland en zal Animalia helpen dit vrijwilligerstoerisme te ontwikkelen.

Maja from Angelcats Sanctuary saw this dog at the vet when she visited him with one of the cats. She sent me this picture: “please, Adrie, can you help him?” My heart broke and my eyes filled with tears… Ganer will be 3 years old on June 23rd, but if he does not get Milteforan to treat his leishmania he will not live much longer. His owners love him to the moon, but cannot afford this effective but very expensive drug. So I hope we (you, dear readers, and I) can help Ganer by raising the money.

Every eurocent makes a difference for this dog!

Great news: Bella, the dog who had cancer, went to her forever home! She has been adopted!
Bella was found bleeding badly from her vagina. Then she had to fight severe respitory infections. Finally she was fit for surgery and chemotherapy. She stayed in the clinic of Dr Marin in Skopje for 2 months and after just a few days in foster care she went home.

Richie, the dog with no hind legs who lives in Belgium now, has received his made to measure dragbagdiapershortgarments. These will keep his diapers in place and protect his bottom when he is jumping around. Annie from Disabled Pet Bowtique made them really boyish with cars and horses. Thank you supporters for donating the money for these garments.

Richie, de hond zonder achterpoten  die nu in België woont, heeft zijn op maat gemaakte sleepzakluierbroekkledingstukken ontvangen. Deze houden de luier op z’n plek en beschermen z’n achterste wanneer hij rondspringt. Annie van Disabled Pet Bowtique heeft ze echt jongensachtig gemaakt met auto’s en paarden. Hartelijk dank aan de donateurs die dit mogelijk hebben gemaakt.

Last year Santino was rescued by Lu.B.A Salta in Argentina. He had very bad injuries and was nursed back to life. Someone in the Netherlands fell in love with him and I was asked to do a homecheck. Then I helped sorting out the complicated transport arrangement and early december he arrived in the Netherlands. In January I visited Teuntje (that’s his Dutch name) and May 29th 2015 I went again. It was great to see him so relaxed with his mommy at the couch. His furry friends are indeed his furry friends. His medical file was waiting for me and I can reassure his rescuers that everything is OK. He has received the right therapy for his wounded leg and the skin is looking so much better. He is a lucky fellow.

Rostislav is the first cat that has been neutered in the campaign of Angelcats Sanctuary in Skopje, Macedonia. They aim to neuter at least 100 cats in 1 year. Neutering is the best way to prevent a miserable life for many cats. It costs 20 euro to neuter a cat. Over a month ago Ivana Anavi rescued Hana from the streets of Skopje, Macedonia. Her fur and skin were in bad condition and she was emaciated. After 10 days they had won the battle with diarrhea, but although she had a healthy appetite she didn’t gain weight. After a month she still weighs only 10,8 kg instead of 20 kg. All the blood works were done: her organs are fine, she is a bit anemic and she tested very positive for leishmania frown-emoticon She is on allopurinol now, but treatment with Milteforan should start a.s.a.p. This costs about 200 euro, money Ivana does not have. So we started a fundraiser:
