We were very lucky to receive a big donation of Beaphar products, a heap of comforters/blankets, money to buy about 60 coats for dogs, two dozen small dog hoodies and sweaters, several sets of shoes and boots. Part of the donation was already sent to Angelcats Sanctuary and Animalia Ohrid in October last. Some items arrived at Dog Rescue Gastarovska earlier this week and now again part of the donation reached the rescue organisations in Skopje Macedonia. The donations for Animalia Ohrid will get there next week. In picture three you can see the goodies that were meant to go to Rescue for Animals in Ohrid and Bitola, but they let us know they do not want to receive these. Instead the goodies went to Angelcats Sanctuary to be used by themselves for the cats in their shelter or by volunteer animal rescuers they work with.

We hebben echt mazzel gehad dat we een grote donatie Beaphar producten hebben ontvangen en ook nog eens een stapel dekbedden, geld om 60 hondenjasjes te kopen, een stuk of 20 kleine hoodies en truitjes, verschillende setjes schoenen en laarsjes. Een deel hiervan kwam in oktober jl al aan bij Angelcats Sanctuary en Animalis Ohrid. Enkele spullen arriveerden begin deze week bij Dog Rescue Gastarovska. En nu is er weer een deel aangekomen bij de organisaties in Skopje Macedonië. De donaties voor Animalia Ohrid komen daar volgende week aan. In foto 3 kun je zien wat werd verzonden voor Rescue for Animals in Ohrid en Bitola, maar die organisatie heeft aangegeven deze niet te willen ontvangen. Daarom zijn ze afgeleverd bij Angelcats Sanctuary voor eigen gebruik of om te verdelen onder de vrijwilligers en dierenredders waarmee ze samenwerken.

The harness for Kaja has arrived at her home. It fits perfectly. Silvija wil experiment with leashes to lengthen the handles in order to make it no longer necessary for her to bend all the time. Next time she will put shoes on the hind feet to protect them. The harness for Kaja was bought in the UK with money from her fundraiser. The coats were bought with money from an anonymous supporter (we were able to buy 60 coats all together) The shoes were donated by Bianca. The vitamin treats and shampoo were part of a big donation from angel Marija. And Emma was so kind as to take these items with her from Amsterdam to Skopje.

Het tuigje voor Kaja is bij haar aangekomen. Het past perfect. Silvija gaat kijken hoe ze met een riem of zo de handvatten kan verlengen zodat ze niet langer zo hoeft te bukken. De volgende keer krijgt Kaja ook schoentjes aan haar achtervoetjes om ze te beschermen. Het tuigje voor Kaja werd gekocht in Engeland met geld van haar fundraiser. De jasjes werden gekocht met geld van een anonieme donateur (we konden in totaal 60 jasjes kopen) De schoentjes werden gedoneerd door Bianca. De vitaminesnoepjes en shampoo maakten deel uit van een grote donatie van engel Marija. En Emma was zo aardig om dit allemaal mee te nemen van Amsterdam naar Skopje.

Ginger is looking for a home! He was nursed back to health by Angelcats Sanctuary in Skopje, Macedonia. When he came he was emaciated and couldn’t use his hind legs. Recently he was diagnosed as FIV cat, but this doesn’t mean he cannot have a long and happy and healthy life. The virus is only transferred by blood, that’s why most people prefer not to have a FIV cat when they have other cats in the house. Please give this nice looking young man a home!

Ginger is op zoek naar een eigen huisje! Hij werd goed verzorgd door Angelcats Sanctuary in Skopje, Macedonië. Toen hij kwam was hij uitgemergeld en kon hij zijn achterpootjes niet gebruiken. Recentelijk is gebleken dat hij een FIV kat is, maar dit betekent niet dat hij geen lang en gelukkig en gezond leven kan leiden. Het virus wordt alleen via bloed overgedragen, daarom willen de meeste mensen die al katten hebben liever geen FIV kan erbij hebben. Wie wil deze knappe jongeman een thuis bieden?

As from yesterday Angel’s Choice no longer supports Rescue for Animals run by the Blazevski sisters in Ohrid and Bitola, Macedonia, at their request. Angel and I wish them and their animals a happy healthy future. We are happy we found their Bino a very loving home.

Sinds gisteren steunt Angel’s Choice niet langer Rescue for Animals van de gezusters Blazevski in Ohrid en Bitola, Macedonië, op hun verzoek. Angel en ik wensen hen en hun dieren een gelukkige en gezonde toekomst. We zijn blij dat we voor hun Bino een zeer liefdevol thuis hebben weten te vinden.

He was born without sight and he is a very happy playful cat. He is fostered by Angelcats Sanctuary in Skopje, Macedonia. He needs a forever home. Preferably in the Netherlands or Belgium.

Het blinde katje Ochko wast zichzelf, net als elke andere kat. Het blinde katje Ochko speelt, net zoals elke andere kat. Hij werd zonder zicht geboren en is een heel gelukkig, speels katje. Hij wordt opgevangen door Angelcats Sanctuary in Skopje, Macedonia. Hij heeft een eigen baasje en huisje nodig. Bij voorkeur in Nederland of België.

One year ago handicapped Jacky and his also handicapped friend Little Bono were on their way from Macedonia to their adopter in Scotland. Jacky was the first handicapped dog I was involved with. He changed my view on handicapped dogs drastically. Before Jacky I thought paralysed dogs were pts because they could not live a ‘normal’ happy life. Since Jacky I know better. Much better. Look at the big smile he shows in this video. This is the first time he had his wheels on and he loved it! He loves to race and play with other dogs. He loves cuddles and pranks. His adopter told me they had to buy him a new wheelchair because all the frolicking in the woods wore the first one down. Pekinese Little Bono needed some more time getting used to his wheels but he is a well trained wheeler as well nowadays.
Jacky is the reason why I got involved with more handicapped animals ever since. I found a home for dog Ava (paralysed from the waist down), dog Paffy (after recovery one lame hind leg and not always stable on his legs), dog Bino (one paralysed hind leg), cat Tokito (paralysed from waist down), cat Cali (paralysed from waist down), cat Zoe (not able to use hind legs for walking, died unfortunately and unexpectedly 5 days before she was travelling to her adopters), cat Mina (almost completely blind).
Angel’s Choice supports the rescuers of handicapped Lunita from Argentina (now fostered in the USA) and handicapped Doris still in Argentina.
Even though the rescuers of handicapped dogs and cats give them the best care they can and lots of love, the animals would benefit enormously if they were adopted into a loving home with a garden and people who have time, energy and the means to give them intensive therapy. The facilities in countries like Macedonia are not adequate for handicapped animals. With the right therapy a lot of physical improvement is possible and being in an home enviroment with their own humans and possibly some furry friends will make them very happy.

Een jaar geleden waren gehandicapte Jacky en zijn eveneens gehandicapte vriendje Little Bono op weg van Macedonië naar hun adoptant in Schotland. Jacky was de eerste gehandicapte hond waarbij ik betrokken was. Hij veranderde mijn beeld van gehandicapte honden enorm. Voordat ik Jacky kende dacht ik dat alle verlamde honden werden ingeslapen, omdat ze geen ‘normaal’ gelukkig leven honden leiden. Maar sinds Jacky weet ik wel beter. Kijk naar de big smile aan het eind van dit filmpje. Dit is de eerste keer dat hij met rolstoel liep. Liep… rende. Hij is gek op rennen en spelen met anderen honden. Hij is gek op knuffels en malle streken. ZIjn adoptant vertelde me dat ze onlangs een nieuwe rolstoel hebben aangeschaft, omdat de eerste door al het geren en gestoei in de bossen helemaal was versleten. Pekinees Little Bono had wat meer tijd nodig om aan zijn wielen te wennen maar is tegenwoordig ook een volleerd rolstoeler.
Jacky is de reden waarom ik sindsdien bij meer gehandicapte dieren betrokken ben geraakt. Ik vond een thuis voor hond Ava (verlamd vanaf het middel), hond Paffy (na revalidatie nog een lam achterpootje en af en toe instabiel op de poten), hond Bino (een verlamd achterpootje), kat Tokito (verlamd vanaf middel), kat Cali (verlamd vanaf middel), kat Zoe (kon achterpoten niet gebruiken, helaas onverwacht overleden enkele dagen voor vertrek naar adoptant), kat Mina (vrijwel helemaal blind).
Angel’s Choice steunt de mensen die gehandicapte Lunita uit Argentinië (nu opgevangen in USA) en gehandicapte Doris in Argentinië.
Ook al geven degenen die de gehandicapte honden en katten hebben gered hen de beste zorg die mogelijk is en heel veel liefde, is het voor hen beter dat ze worden geadopteerd en kunnen wonen in een huis met tuin bij mensen die de tijd, energie en middelen hebben om ze intensief te (laten) behandelen. In landen als Macedonië zijn de mogelijkheden voor behandeling enorm beperkt. De juiste behandeling kan veel fysieke winst opleveren en in een thuisomgeving met eigen baasjes en als het even kan enkele dierenvriendjes zullen ze heel gelukkig zijn.
Hierboven kun je lezen voor welke gehandicapte dieren op dit moment een goed thuis wordt gezocht.

In June Animalia Ohrid, Macedonia, and Angel’s Choice were contacted by several tourist from the Netherlands and the UK to help a sick puppy near a hotel in Pestani. The puppy went to the shelter of Animalia and was cared for awaiting the flight to a couple that was involved in her rescue. She was called Scabie.
At the end of september Animalia was contacted by tourists from Belgium who wanted to take stray dog Buddy home with them. Because of EU regulation Buddy got her rabies vaccination and after that she had to wait at least 30 days to join her rescuers. In the mean time she was neutered.
On saturday October 31st 2015 Scabie and Buddy left foster shelter Animalia and flew to their forever home.

In juni werden Animalia Ohrid, Macedonië, en Angel’s Choice benaderd door verschillende toeristen uit Nederland en Engeland om een ziek hondje te redden dat bij een hotel in Pestani op straat leefde. De pup werd opgevangen en verzorgd in de shelter van Animalia tot ze op reis kon naar de toeristen die haar hadden gered. Ze werd Scabie genoemd.
Eind september werd Animalia om hulp gevraagd door Belgische toeristen die straathond Buddy mee naar huis wilden nemen. Vanwege de EU wetgeving moest Buddy eerst een rabiesvaccinatie krijgen en daarna moest er nog minimaal 30 dagen worden gewacht eer dat ze naar haar redders kon. In de tussentijd werd ze gecastreerd.
Op zaterdag 31 oktober 2015 verlieten Scabie en Buddy de shelter van Animalia en vlogen ze naar hun eigen thuis.

Doris is a handicapped dog found in Argentina. She is being fostered at the moment, but needs a forever home. Till then food, medicines, diapers, supplements, etc. have to be paid. Angel’s Choice facilitates the fundraising.

Doris is een gehandicapte hond die in Argentinië van straat is gehaald. Op dit moment verblijft ze bij een opvanggezin, maar ze heeft natuurlijk een eigen gouden mandje nodig. Tot het zover is, is er geld nodig voor voer, medicijnen, luiers, supplementen en meer. Angel’s Choice faciliteert de fundraising.

This is Tedy. A girl about 5 or 6 years old. Two years ago she was hit by a car in Skopje, Macedonia. She was found by a family that took her to the vet and then to their home. She has paralysed hind legs and her bladder must be expressed manually every day. She is loved and cared for. But her family want her to have a better life. They have no money to buy her a wheelchair so she hasn’t been outside for a long time. Maybe somewhere someone has a wheelchair that fits her. Please contact us if you have one in her size. From hip/shoulder to floor she measures about 50 cm and from shoulder to hip about 46 cm. She weight about 18 kilo.
And although her family would miss her terribly they would be very grateful if someone with a nice roomy house and a garden adopts her.
